The 96th meeting of the E- Government Interoperability Working Group was held on September 12, 2026, with eight resolutions adopted on data exchange and the development of data-driven electronic services.
The resolutions provide for the exchange of a range of information services among government bodies and other organizations, covering areas including identity and geospatial data, financial and capital-market services, taxation, combating smuggling, transportation, natural disaster insurance for buildings, and register-based population and housing census data.
Under one of the resolutions, the Securities and Exchange Organization will provide the Financial Intelligence Center with a range of information services related to different capital-market segments and transaction records. The Financial Intelligence Center will also provide the Securities and Exchange Organization with a service indicating the existence of suspicious money-laundering reports as a complementary service.
In the area of combating smuggling, the Working Group approved the provision of information services covering licenses for the import of radiation sources, industrial permits, business licenses and other trade-related information to the Headquarters for Combating Smuggling of Goods and Foreign Exchange.
Transportation data exchange was another key focus of the meeting. Under the approved resolutions, information on drivers’ smart cards, passenger transport fleets and travel records will be made available to the Police (FARAJA). The resolutions also establish mechanisms for data exchange among the Ports and Maritime Organization, the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company and the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization.
The meeting also addressed data requirements for the Natural Disaster Insurance Fund for Buildings. Relevant information, including electricity subscription and property registration data, will be provided by the respective authorities to support the Fund’s operations.
The eighth resolution relates to the implementation of the register-based Population and Housing Census, with a focus on integrating and streamlining the country’s statistical system and ensuring the availability of up-to-date data required by the Statistical Center of Iran.
The resolutions adopted at the 96th meeting represent a further step toward strengthening the national data-exchange infrastructure, reducing duplication across government systems, and facilitating access to reliable information for the delivery of integrated and smart public services.
