Electronic Government Takes Another Step Forward with New Approvals

The 92nd session of the National Electronic Government Interoperability Task Force, held on May 30, 2026, resulted in significant approvals aimed at streamlining and accelerating the provision of government services to citizens and organizations.

In the first set of approvals, requests from various entities were granted. These include Rasht Municipality (access to identity inquiry and facial recognition services from the National Organization for Civil Registration), the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization of Iran (access to employee information from the Social Security Organization, and smart driver and vehicle card inquiries from the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization), banks with independent insurance (access to printed prescription inquiry services from the Iran Health Insurance Organization), the Bank Employees Retirement Fund (access to general academic degree information from the Organization of Student Affairs), the National Tax Administration (use of Chapar Plus service from the Regulatory and Radio Communications Organization), the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (receipt of summary medical records from the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education), and the Judiciary (access to subscriber inquiry web services, salary slips and decrees of retired civil servants from the National Retirement Fund, salary slip inquiry with رمز code from the Social Security Organization, and Payment 14 service from the Administrative and Recruitment Organization). Additionally, requests from scientific and seminary centers and معاونت‌ها were also approved.

Based on this approval, private companies active in the IT sector, including Fanap Telecom, Motamed Hamrah Fanava, Asiatech, Derik Creative Service, Iranian Smart Informatics Services, Pishgaman Digital Trust Iranians, Finvotak Pars, Matin Management and Development (Matin), and Setak Hooshmand Sharif, will gain access to various services such as address description inquiry, postal codes, geographical coordinates, SHAHKAR, identity verification, and tax certificate inquiries. These tax services will also be available to all social messengers approved by the relevant authorities.

The second approval focuses on facilitating property information for advertising platforms. The National Organization for Registration of Deeds and Properties is mandated to provide a two-factor property information service to real estate advertising companies. This service will include details such as precise property metrages, land use, parking and storage status, deed registration date, floor, postal ID, and the status of property liens or freedom from encumbrances. This initiative aims to enhance transparency and accuracy in real estate transactions.

The third approval addresses strengthening the fight against smuggling of goods and currency. To fulfill the requirements of Article 6, Paragraph "B" of the Anti-Smuggling Law, and in response to a request from the Central Headquarters for Combating Smuggling of Goods and Currency, the Road Maintenance and Transportation Organization is tasked with providing travel information and temporary import license inquiry services to customs. These services, offering precise details such as origin and destination of travel, driver information, vehicle license plates, and entry/exit status, will significantly assist customs in identifying and combating the smuggling of goods and currency.

The final approval of the session concerns the National Tax Administration's request for access to information on vacant homes. This measure aims to facilitate the identification and collection of taxes from empty properties. It is anticipated that with the National Tax Administration's access to this accurate and comprehensive data, a significant step will be taken to combat speculation in the housing market and increase the utilization of existing capacities.
